When Pastors Fail to Correct Their Relatives in the Church

Have you ever experienced a situation at an assembly where the pastor refuses to genuinely correct a carnal individual because they’re related? For instance, Carol & I were part of a ministry years ago where a pathological liar ran around the church gossiping & slandering, yet was tolerated because she was related to the pastor […]

Does Walking in AGAPE LOVE Mean You Should Be a DOORMAT to Abuse?

A popular minister was preaching on walking in agape love wherein he quoted a verse from the great love passage: Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, 1 Corinthians 13:7a (Amplified Bible Classic) He then brought up a Christian brother who was dealing with a rude, abusive jerk and vented in desperation, “I […]

What Is the UNPARDONABLE SIN (Blasphemy Against the Holy Spirit)?

Let’s read the two most informative accounts of when the Lord detailed the unpardonable sin: And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.” 23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How […]

What Happened to the Hebrews in the Old Testament Are WARNINGS FOR BELIEVERS

The New Testament refers to our Hebraic forefathers who escaped slavery in Egypt: Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness. 6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them […]

What Does “GO THE EXTRA MILE” Mean?

Christ instructed believers: “If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.” Matthew 5:41 What did the Lord mean by this? At that time, the Holy Land was under Roman control and Roman soldiers, who walked everywhere, were permitted by law to enlist non-citizens to carry their packs or equipment, but […]

How to CONFRONT & CORRECT (and How NOT to)

Genuine believers are to be submitted to one another (Ephesians 5:21), which means we’re accountable to each other based on the morality of New Covenant Christianity and the corresponding God-breathed Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17 & 1 Corinthians 4:6). The biblical book of wisdom puts it like this: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs […]

Handling Personal Offenses vs. Handling Criminal Acts

There’s a huge difference between dealing with personal offenses as opposed to dealing with severe criminal acts. The former is a matter of peace between people in the Church, as well as society (relatives, co-workers, neighbors, etc.), whereas the latter is a matter of acquiring justice and protecting the populace from wicked thugs.

Cast Your Cares! (Venting)

The Bible instructs us to cast our cares — our burdens and anxieties — on to the LORD and he will sustain us. Why? Because we can’t handle them. If we don’t throw them off they’ll weigh us down and can even ruin us. Venting is necessary and the LORD is the best person to vent to!

Turning the Cheek — What it Means and Doesn’t Mean

Jesus said, “If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” What does “turning the cheek” mean? Does Jesus want us to be “doormats” for abuse? Are we obligated to perpetuallly “turn the cheek” to arrogant antagonists who repeatedly spit on our peaceable grace and the Spirit’s wooing? Doesn’t Jesus care about justice? This teaching is a balanced Biblical look at the subject. As Jesus said, “the truth will set you free.”
